But we've also worked hard to get our various plant beds in shape. The rock garden is looking nice. The cacti are starting to plump up and grow new pads after the winter (yes, you CAN grow cacti outside here, even in the snow). We also bought some new sedum at the Botanical Gardens plant sale.
We finally put in some alyssium into our round rose garden. We had planted some miniature daffodils in it last fall, so we had about a week where we had both flowers blooming. It looked great! Of course, the daffodils are gone now and the roses aren't blooming yet. All of our roses are growing in crazy amounts, so hopefully we'll have a big crop this year.
We have one vegetable garden planted and already have seedlings of lettuce, peas, broccoli, etc. The tomato plants have been purchased but aren't planted yet since we had frost warnings all weekend. We also bought some hostas, some ferns, and lots of other things that we haven't been able to plant yet. Guess we will have our work cut out for us this weekend!
