One More Reason To Love Pizza

So we ordered pizza from Cottage Inn yesterday for dinner because we were dead tired from carrying plants all evening. The delivery guy could NOT look away from the row of agaves now habitating in our front yard. He wanted to know all about them...how you could make tequila out of them, how they could grow in Michigan, etc. Of course, I just wanted my Hawaiian pizza and breadsticks at this point, it being 9:30 PM! But it's nice that people comment on the plants.

We've also gotten to know some more of the neighborhood dogs through being outside during prime dog-walking hours. Besides Sir, Rooster, and Audrey, whom we were already acquainted with, we now are friends with Otis the black pug, Bernadette the St. Bernard, and Skipper the German Shephard. Skipper is only 8 months old and just the nicest puppy--he can knock you down though! His owners had an old dog last year who did not make it through the winter, so it's nice to see that they've got a new friend. Of course, I think it's a wee bit creepy to give your new dog the same name as the old one, but I guess it's not my affair!

In other pet related news, we lost another rat yesterday. Ginger was one of our few remaining original Georgia rats who made the Great Trip North with us. She had been weak and sick for a while. Roux and Sophie are not doing well either. That's one of the bad things about rat ownership--short lifespans.
